Da Entourage does the  "Bunny Hop" in Hickory Hill , Memphis TN

The crowd at club Stuart in Memphis, TN appeared to be not impressed when Da Entourage, a hip hop group from Lafayette, Louisiana, performed a couple of songs tainted with gangsta lyrics from their current album Entourage 2. During the middle of their performance, a shouted of aloud "Boo!" penetrated from the crowd.

The audience tiresome attitude to toward the group's gangsta songs performance probably can be contributed to the group's innocent image and lack of thug life conviction in their vocal deliverance or maybe Memphis hip-hop fans have experienced their share of gangsta rap performances through Memphis local rappers like Project Pat and Playa Fly whose gangsta lyrics are a manifestation of their daily life that is combined with tight production that prevent them from being easily amused by other rappers with just fantasy gangsta lyrics.

However whatever the reason, the crowd mood toward the group changed as quickly as a hurricane when Da Entourage started teasing the audience by rapping acappela parts of their sleeping hit song the Bunny Hop that sold over 30 thousand unit locally and sparked a record deal with Universal Records. Suddenly, the unconcerned faces in the crowd begin glowing with excitement. The glow of excitement on their faces increased when DJ Fire Red, CEO of the group, played the instrumental to the Bunny Hop as the group began rapping the song in its entirety. The audience focused their eyes, hungry for entertainment, on the group's body movement while the Da Entourage demonstrated their version of the Bunny Hop dance. When the group invited the women in the audience to join them on the stage, their requests was instantly answered when the women from the crowd flooded the stage and begin spontaneously mimicking the group’s choreography of the Bunny Hop dance. When the Da Entourage finished their performance, there were smiles and autograph requests from the audience.

The group's debuted musical video to the song “Bunny Hop” is scheduled to be release on MTV and BET in May of 2003. The Da Entourage‘s song the “Bunny Hop” developed interested in the Memphis, TN market through Hot 107.1 FM's mix show featuring DJ Boogaloo. If the Da Entourage can maintain catchy dance hooks in their music, they will definitely earn platinum status in the rap game.
